Western Harbour
The Western Harbour (Västra Hamnen) is one of Malmö's most exciting and forward-looking districts. Once home to the famous Kockums shipyards, the former industrial waterfront has been transformed into a vibrant neighbourhood of modern architecture, waterfront promenades, parks, restaurants and sustainable living.
The area's transformation began with the international housing exhibition Bo01 in 2001, which showcased innovative urban planning and environmentally friendly solutions. Today, the Western Harbour is recognised around the world as a model for sustainable city development.
Turning Torso
Dominating the skyline is the spectacular Turning Torso, designed by renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. At 190 metres, it is the tallest building in Scandinavia and has become the unmistakable symbol of modern Malmö.

Stapelbäddsparken
Stapelbäddsparken is one of Scandinavia's premier skateparks and attracts skaters from around the world. The park also features climbing facilities, green spaces and hosts festivals and cultural events throughout the year.
Swimming & Recreation
During summer, both locals and visitors gather at Scaniabadet and the bathing piers along Sundspromenaden. Wide wooden decks, crystal-clear water and panoramic sea views make this one of Malmö's favourite places to relax.
Restaurants & Cafés
The waterfront is lined with cafés, restaurants and outdoor terraces where you can enjoy everything from Swedish cuisine to international flavours while overlooking the Öresund and the Copenhagen skyline.
Parks & Promenades
Daniaparken, Scaniaparken and the long waterfront promenade provide plenty of space for walking, cycling, jogging or simply sitting by the sea. The area is especially popular in the evening when visitors gather to watch the sunset over the Öresund Bridge.
