World Maritime University 40th anniversary celebration
When WMU celebrated 40 years, the festivities began with an anniversary dinner at Malmö Town Hall. The following days, June 20-22, WMU hosted the Conference on Maritime and Ocean Sustainability with speakers and guests
The tribute speech at the dinner was opened by WMU Chancellor, HE Kitack Lim, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Malmö's Mayor Cathrin Strjernfeldt Jammeh praised WMU's importance to Malmö City. Dr. Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, President of WMU, also gave a much-appreciated eulogy speech to the 230 guests.
This was followed by an excellent three-course dinner with matching wines.
