Arrival by Ferry & Boat
Although there are no passenger ferries directly to Malmö, travelling by sea is still a convenient option. Regular ferry services connect Germany and Poland with southern Sweden, while private boats and yachts are welcome in Malmö's marinas during the boating season.
Ferry Connections
If you're travelling from Germany, several ferry routes arrive in Trelleborg, located approximately 30 minutes south of Malmö by car. Visitors from Poland can take the ferry to Ystad, followed by a scenic drive of around 45 minutes to Malmö via the E65 motorway.
Many international travellers also choose to arrive in Copenhagen by ferry before continuing to Malmö by road or train across the Öresund Bridge.
Visiting by Private Boat
Malmö welcomes visiting yachts and motorboats with several well-equipped marinas located close to the city centre. During the summer months, the city's marinas provide an excellent base for exploring both Malmö and the surrounding coastline.
Limhamn Marina
Limhamn Marina is one of Sweden's largest guest harbours and has welcomed boat owners for more than a century. Located about 6 kilometres southwest of central Malmö, it offers modern facilities, guest berths and easy access to the city by bicycle, bus or car.
