Lyssna: New law to make it easier to evict criminals - comes into effect today

Previously, troublesome tenants who have committed crimes have only been forcibly evicted from their accommodation if the crimes happened in their home or the building where they live.

But a new law coming into force today Monday also allows property owners powers of eviction if the crime has taken place close by.

The Swedish Tenants Association is strongly critical of the law and believes that innocent family members could be impacted.
