Fake news spread on social media after pro-Palestinian protests

While the actual demonstrations were mostly peaceful, 15 year old footage of violence is being spread claiming to be from Thursday.

Fake news of outbreaks of violence in Malmö, reportedly from Thursday's rallies in the Eurovision Song Contest host city, is being spread on social media.

Swedish Radio P4 Malmöhus reports that the film footage of the disturbances are real but date from 2009 and the demonstrations ahead of Sweden's tennis match against Israel in the Davis Cup.

Police have warned of the risk of fake rumours and disinformation increasing during Eurovision week in Malmö.
