Lyssna: A quarter of first-time voters have a foreign background

More and more of those eligible to vote in Sweden have a foreign background, and among first-time voters, the proportion is particularly big.

In this autumn's general election, nearly one in four first-time voters aged 18-21 was either born abroad or has two parents born abroad.

In central Malmö, almost every other person eligible to vote for the first time has a foreign background with this definition - and that's the highest in the country.
