A new digital mapping tool will help the police and other authorities identify places in the country which are showing signs of criminal influence impacting negatively on the local community.

The tool, which was developed by researchers at Malmö and Lund University, is based on long term data with variables such as the rate of employment rate, overcrowding, foreign background and reported crimes.
