Hundreds of mothers, midwives and others gathered in Stockholm for a demonstration calling on widespread changes in maternity care.

Demonstrations took place in Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg this week in a show of support for midwives during the crisis in maternity care.

At the protest In Stockholm, midwife Maria Wigbrant tells Radio Sweden that women deserve better.

"Every woman deserves to have a midwife standing by when they are giving birth, there is not a more important moment in life," she says.
