SMHI: Strong winds and snowfall cause problems

Heavy snowfall in Malmö on Wednesday.

Heavy snowfalls and strong winds are causing the Swedish Met Office SMHI to issue weather warning for several parts of the country.

The Swedish Traffic Administration reports about trees that have fallen over roads, trains and ferries that have been cancelled, and generally difficult driving conditions all over the country.

The speed limit for people travelling over the Öresund bridge has been limited to 50 km/h and vehicles vulnerable to strong winds are advised not to travel over the bridge at all.

The weather warnings concern Västernorrland, Västerbotten and Halland, Sjuhärad, plus Jönköping and Kronoberg counties.
