As Sweden's largest opposition party, the Moderates, hosts a conference in Malmö this weekend, the party secretary joined calls to impose stricter penalties for people who attack police and emergency services.

Tomas Tobé, the Moderate?s party secretary, told Swedish Radio that an attack on police officers, emergency medics, or any other public safety staff is an attack on a society governed by the rule of law.

?The response to this aggression and these attacks must be clear. It is about zero tolerance,? he said.
