Fewer, bigger regions when map of Sweden is redrawn

Sweden's 21 counties will be merged into fewer administrative regions and on Wednesday a first proposal, including a map, will be presented. There is worry and concern in several parts of the country, however, about what this will mean.

There have long been plans to cut the number of administrative regions in Sweden since 21 counties are seen as far too many, causing unnecessary bureaucracy and inefficiencies. Media reports that the Wednesday's proposal will shrink the number down to 6 regions.
