Refugee numbers fall to pre-surge levels

The number of people applying for asylum in Sweden is down two-thirds from the peak in November 2015, and the Migration Agency says it is better able to cope.

A senior manager at the Malmö branch of the agency says that just five weeks ago there were over 10,000 people seeking refuge every week, and now it is just a third of that.

?The pressure is significantly less,? says Johan Harald, head of staff at Malmö Migration Agency, to Swedish Radio News.
