Rare supermoon eclipse coming to Swedish skies

Stargazers in Sweden will be treated to a rare sight early Monday with a total lunar eclipse of a so-called supermoon.

At 4:47 a.m. local time, the moon will be totally eclipsed and reddish as it passes into the earth's shadow. The dark-red blood color is due to sunlight scattered off the Earth's atmosphere being reflected by the celestial body.

The moon will also be a so-called supermoon, meaning it has reached its closest point to Earth in its orbit around the planet.
