Commission to investigate cheating in welfare sector

Lyssna: Minister: "it's too easy to abuse the system"

Sweden's known the world round for its generous welfare system, but that also makes it a target for criminals wanting to cheat the system.

In July, a court in southern Stockholm county found 34 people guilty for duping the Swedish Social Insurance Agency out of a some SEK 29 million.

And just last year, 32 people were charged in Malmö for cheating a government-backed wage guarantee program, milking it for some SEK 9 million.
