Hundreds of refugees take the ferry to Sweden

For the first time, large numbers of refugees are coming to Sweden by ferry, with over 100 arriving in Gothenburg overnight.

A Stena Line ferry arrived in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city, on Friday morning, carrying several refugees travelling from Kiel in Germany. More are expected to arrive throughout the day, Swedish Radio News reports.

The majority of refugees who come to Sweden arrive in Malmö in the south, with 2,000 having come there this week alone, according to the Migration Agency. But now several hundred more have taken ferries to Gothenburg in the west and to Trelleborg, Sweden’s southernmost city....
