Major train delays between Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg

Rail passengers travelling between Sweden's three major cities were warned on Thursday of extensive delays carrying over into Friday, after an overhead power cable fell across train tracks.

Traffic is halted on the track between Gnesta and Flen which has affected trains on the Stockholm-Gothenburg and Stockholm-Malmö routes.

According to the Swedish Transport Administration's (Trafikverket) forecast at 6pm Thursday, the delays will continue until six am Friday morning. Rail traffic has been diverted via Vagnhärad and Västerås,...
