Case worker at Migration Agency convicted for taking bribes

A former case worker at the Migration Agency in Malmö has been convicted of earning hundreds of thousand kroner on vulnerable refugees, the news agency TT report.

The scam came to light in 2012, when it was discovered that someone had been selling residency permits and providing fake bulgarian passports and id for people from outside the EU. At least seven people were allowed to stay in the country thanks to this.

The 53-year-old former employee is now sentenced to three years in prison for taking bribes and for aiding forgery. According to the district court...
