A demonstration by a Swedish branch of the anti-islamic Pegida in Uppsala attracted a handfull of people who came to listen. Several hundred people had showed up to protest.

Police had cordoned off the Forum square beforehand to keep the demonstrations apart. Extra police officers had been called in from neighbouring counties but no violence was reported. Two organisations had been granted permission by the police to demonstrate against the Pegida demonstration. Approximately 250-300 showed up to protest.

This is a similar pattern to previous Pegida demonstrations in Gothenburg, Malmö and Linköping, with a small number of supporters, but many more...
