Another day, another rail delay

Monday morning brought a fresh day of misery for train travellers due to a crack in a track switch at Stockholm Södra.

The Swedish Traffic Authority (Trafikverket), said the fault, which was discoverd late on Sunday, will not be fixed until mid-afternoon, Monday.

"What has happened is that in our routine maintenance work, we found a crack in a switch, which we need to repair right now during the day," Bengt Olsson, head of communications for traffic management at Trafikverket told Swedish Radio News.
