The Supreme Court has finished trying the case of a reporter from the tabloid Expressen who bought an illegal weapon in Malmö, in 2010 for journalistic purposes.

While the Supreme Court on Wednesday, still found the journalist guilty of buying the semi-automatic pistol and ammunition, and the manager and the newspaper's editor in chief guilty of serving as accomplices, the court reduced the sentence because of the journalistic intent.

While a crime like this would ordinarily call for a prison sentence, the Supreme Court has sentenced the three people to pay fines.
