Malmö becomes third big city with Michelin-starred restaurants

Malmö joined the map of Swedish cities with Michelin-starred eateries when the famous French guide announced Thursday that three of the city's taverns would each receive a coveted star.

The Malmö restaurants Ambiance à Vindåkra, Bloom in the Park and Vollmers were each awarded a star. The Oaxen Krog in Stockholm received a second star. Stockholm can now boast three two-star taverns. In Gothernburg Koka and SK Mat & Människor were each awarded a star.

In the new Michelin Guide Nordic Cities 2015 Sweden received 21 stars for 18 restarants in Malmö, Gothenburg, and Stockholm. That's up from 13 in 2014.
