Malmö hate crime complaints seldom lead to prosecution

The investigative news program Uppdrag Granskning found that many criminal complaints of hate crimes in Malmö do not lead to prosecution. More than half of the complaints during 2013 and 2014 were directed at Jewish individuals.

During the two-year period there were 137 reports filed with the Malmö police, and the complaints ranged from graffiti swastikas to harassment and bomb threats.

Thomas Bull, who works at the hate crime police in Malmö, told the news program that none of the complaints which concerned threats or taunts against jews had led to prosecution.
