Storm Alexander, which rolled in over southern Sweden on Friday night, ended up being less severe than feared, according to meteorologist Sandra Andersson from the Swedish national weather service.

The storm ended up taking a more southern route than what meteorologists had first predicted, and this is why it ended up having a milder effect, according to news agency TT. In fact, only one weather station, Hanö, recorded sustained storm-strength winds.
