The number of falsely-flagged vessels in Russia's so-called shadow fleet has declined while the number of ships sailing under the Russian flag has increased, Swedish Radio News reports.

Henning Jessen is a professor at the UN's World Maritime University in Malmö and he says it seems that measures such as sanctions and boarding of the ships are having an effect.
