The Moderates want 10,000 surveillance cameras in operation by end of 2029.

Lyssna: Moderates want 10,000 police surveillance cameras in Sweden

The Moderates, the largest party in government, want the police to be equipped with 10,000 surveillance cameras before 2030.

The election promise came on Monday at a press conference in Malmö with Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer.

The government's current goal is to have at least 5,000 surveillance cameras by the end of next year. The Moderates want to see that number doubled by the close of 2029.
