Two people were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries following Thursday night's powerful explosion in the stairwell of an apartment building in the southern Stockholm suburb of Farsta.

A preliminary investigation is underway into attempted murder, destruction of property and flammable and explosive materials violations. Police are also investigating two separate blasts in Malmö and Eskilstuna.
