Lyssna: Government gives go ahead to large offshore wind-park

The government has given the go-ahead to a large new offshore wind-farm in the Baltic Sea, south of Trelleborg.

It will be ready in 2027 and have an estimated annual capacity of 2,3-2,8 TWh, enough to power 500,000 Swedish houses for one year.

The need for new electricity is particularly high in southern Sweden, where several nuclear reactors have closed in the past five years.
