It's only late February but already spring has sprung in Stockholm, according to the definition by Sweden's national weather service.

Meteorologist Sandra Fyrstedt told Swedish Radio's station in the capital that the forecaster declares the arrival of spring once the average temperature - both day and night - has been above freezing for 7 days in a row.

Stockholm county reached that mark on Friday since the weather agency SMHI doesn't start counting the days until February 15.
