Lyssna: Ban on Muslim headscarves in Skurup schools provokes protests

Skurup council's decision to impose a ban on headscarves in primary and secondary schools in the southern Swedish municipality has provoked a strong reaction.

On Monday afternoon, around two hundred people gathered outside the town hall to demonstrate.

"This criminalises Muslim girls and deprives them of their rights," Tasnim Raoof, spokesperson for Malmö's young Muslims association tells Swedish Radio.
