Malmö police have increased their presence in public places as a precaution.

Swedish police shot and injured a man at Malmö's central station shortly after 10 am on Monday, after he said he was carrying bags with weapons and explosives.

Police said the man, who was shot in the leg and taken to hospital, had been showing signs of "threatening behaviour", and that he had said that he had a weapon and explosives in two bags.
