Fear of crime has risen in Malmö, even though citizens report fewer crimes taking place.

According to the report, 78 percent of Malmö citizens said they were worried about becoming a victim of crime, up from 77 percent last year. And 39 percent reported feeling unsafe if they were out alone late in the evening, up from 36 percent.

Chief Superintendent Andy Roberts blamed the recent spate of gang-related shootings.
