As Denmark moves to legalise medical cannabis, the Swedish Customs authority is fearing a rise in cannabis trafficking.

From January 2018, doctors in Denmark will be able to prescribe medical cannabis to patients. The Danish government is also funding a four-year-trial project seeking to establish domestic production of the drug.

Differences between the new Danish legislation and its existing Swedish counterpart are proving a headache for the Swedish Customs authority ? who fear a spike in cannabis trafficking to Sweden.
