Malmö shops get used to migration checks

Swedish border police tripled spot checks on small businesses last year, new figures released on Monday showed. Radio Sweden asked shopkeepers in Malmö what they had noticed.

Mouammar Alokajli, owner of Sunshine Livs off Malmö's immigrant-dense Möllevången Square, received a spot check in February. 

He claims that he only employs people through the Swedish government work agency Arbetsförmedlingen, and says that everyone who works for him has permission to live and work in Sweden. 

"Everything was OK. 100 percent," he says....
