Cable fire knocks out rail traffic from Stockholm south

Many travelers have been affected by the halt in rail traffic at Stockholm Central

All rail traffic between Stockholm?s Central and Southern stations has closed down, following a cable fire in a tunnel earlier in the day. The halt, which affects both the mainlines to Gothenburg and Malmö, as well as commuter trains, is expected to be over by around 2:00 PM.

But there will be a knock-on effect. ?There will be delays affecting train traffic during the afternoon and evening?, says Josephine Gröndal of the Swedish Transport Administration.

She says travelers should contact their train operators for more information.
